Example for qualitative spatial nitrate pollution risk analysis

The map shows the pollution risks for the lower aquifers from domestic untreated sewage (solid red dots), dumping sites (solid purple triangles) and open wastewater flows (purple lines) over the recharge areas of the Upper and Lower Cenomanian aquifers. Recharge areas for Pleistocene aquifer (outlined by the blue line) and the Jordanian aquifer (outlined by the red line) are not considered because insufficient data were available. However, these recharge areas are thought to cover much of area that is over the aquifers (in the uplands as well as in the valley).
